A must see when staying anywhere in the Thousand Islands. I enjoy taking visiting friends there several times a year and each time it seems that more renovations have been completed. If you don't have a boat, then consider one of the many tour boat lines in the area.
Boldt Castle
Whether you choose to bring your own boat to Horseblock Point, we recommend that you don't miss the opportunity to cruise the 1000 Islands on a tour boat to learn the history of the Islands and relax as someone else takes the helm. The Boat Line offers a variety of tours to nearly every attraction in the area.
Gananoque Boat Line
About 25 miles west of our cottages is Historic Kingston (the original capital of Canada in 1868-1869). Enjoy the pleasant drive to Kingston along Highway 2.
Historic Kingston
The small town of Gananoque offers a quaint opportunity to browse local shops along main street and enjoy the many local events taking place throughout the summer months.
The Town of Gananoque
Originally constructed during the War of 1812, this old military fort remains today as a major tourist attraction. Complete with historic re-enactments and employees dressed for the era, it an experience for the whole family (my niece and nephew, above, loved it!). Don't miss Canada's only UNESCA site.
